Back on the Farm 2.0 at SCPKU

On May 18th, 2024, SCPKU hosted “Back on the Farm 2.0,” reuniting over 120 Stanford alumni and affiliates for a day of intellectual engagement. In addition to our attendees in nearby Beijing, attendees traveled from across China to join the event, some arriving from as far as Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Chengdu, demonstrating the strong intellectual curiosity that Stanford is known for. The event featured a welcome address from Lee Shau Kee director Jean Oi and a series of engaging 30-minute “speed classes” by seven Stanford faculty members via Zoom, along with in-person sessions led by Professor Andy Walder and Professor Jean Oi. Jon Levin, soon to be Stanford’s 13th president, warmly welcomed attendees through a recorded message. The event’s success underscored the alumni community’s enthusiasm for continued learning and connection with the Stanford academic community in China.
